Question 1

What is a CPSI inspection, and how does Rungsure support it?

Accepted Answer

A CPSI inspection is a playground safety inspection performed by a Certified Playground Safety Inspector using their training, professional judgment, and the information applicable to the site. Rungsure supports the workflow around that work by keeping site and equipment context, inspection checklist records, photos, findings, schedules, corrective-action history, and activity in one workspace. Rungsure does not perform the inspection or issue a certification.

Question 2

How does CPSI practice relate to ASTM playground guidance?

Accepted Answer

CPSI practice may consider applicable ASTM International standards and guides, such as ASTM F1487 for public-use playground equipment and surfacing-related standards such as F1292 and F1951. Which documents apply depends on the equipment, surfacing, site, project history, and current requirements. Rungsure can organize the records used in that review, but it does not determine applicability or certify conformance. Owners should verify the current official ASTM editions and any manufacturer, contract, or local requirements.

Question 3

How often should a playground be inspected?

Accepted Answer

There is no single inspection interval that fits every playground. Owners should start with the manufacturer’s instructions and recommended schedule, then consider actual or anticipated use, weather and site conditions, equipment age, prior findings, contracts, and applicable local requirements. Qualified professionals can help set an appropriate program. Rungsure supports recurring schedules and upcoming or overdue work; it does not prescribe a universal frequency.

Question 4

What can an audit-ready Rungsure report capture?

Accepted Answer

An Rungsure audit report can bring together site and equipment context, inspection and checklist records, inspection photos, findings or defects, corrective-action and resolution history, and recorded activity. The report is intended to support review and evidence organization. It does not itself certify compliance, prove that every applicable requirement was met, or replace source records and professional review.

Question 5

Does Rungsure determine whether a playground is compliant?

Accepted Answer

No. Rungsure helps teams record observations, organize evidence, track defects and resolutions, and prepare a report for review. It does not make a legal or professional determination, interpret every applicable standard, or guarantee a compliance outcome. The owner and the appropriate qualified professionals remain responsible for evaluating the site and deciding what action is required.

Question 6

Does Rungsure replace a qualified playground inspector?

Accepted Answer

No. Rungsure supports inspection workflows and recordkeeping; it does not replace a Certified Playground Safety Inspector or another qualified professional. Inspectors retain professional judgment about observations, risk, applicable guidance, findings, and recommended corrective action. Owners should use the appropriate qualified professionals for decisions that require professional expertise.
